Product description: Monoclonal Antibody. Recognizes the Human, Mouse, Rat protein. Liquid. HEPES with 0.15M NaCl, 0.01% BSA, 0.03% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol. Tubulin is a heterodimer consisting of alpha and beta-tubulin subunits. It is nearly ubiquitous among eukaryotic cells. The alpha and beta tubulins, which are each about 55 kDa MW, are homologous but not identical. alpha-beta tubulin heterodimer is the basic building block of microtubules. This intracellular cylindrical filamentous structure is present in almost eukaryotic cells. microtubules serve as structural supports and lines of transport within the cell, as well as serving a key role in mitosis Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain.
