Détails Produit

Product description: Polyclonal Antibody. Recognizes the Human protein. Liquid. HEPES with 0.15M NaCl, 0.01% BSA, 0.03% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol. STAT2 (Signal transducer and activator of transcription 2), 113kDa, is a member of the STAT family of cytoplasmic transcription factors. STAT members generally mediate cytokine, growth factor and hormone receptor signal transduction. STAT2 is a transcription factor critical to the signal transduction pathway of type I interferons (e.g. IFNalpha). STAT2 resides primarily in the cytoplasm and is tyrosine-phosphorylated after IFNalpha binds to cell surface receptors. In response to tyrosine phosphorylation STAT2 rapidly localizes to the nucleus and acquires the ability to bind specific DNA targets in association with two other proteins, STAT1 and IFN regulatory factor-9 (IRF-9). STAT2 is phosphorylated at Y689 by receptor-associated Janus kinasses (JAKs) leading to STAT2 dimerization and subsequent translocation to the nucleus to activate gene transcription. Signal transducer and activator of transcription that mediates signaling by type I IFNs (IFN-alpha and IFN-beta). Following type I IFN binding to cell surface receptors, Jak kinases (TYK2 and JAK1) are activated, leading to tyrosine phosphorylation of STAT1 and STAT2. The phosphorylated STATs dimerize, associate with ISGF3G/IRF-9 to form a complex termed ISGF3 transcription factor, that enters the nucleus. ISGF3 binds to the IFN stimulated response element (ISRE) to activate the transcription of interferon stimulated genes, which drive the cell in an antiviral state.
