Crotalaria juncea Lectin (CJL) - Pure

Product Description
Lectin CJL is isolated from Sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea) and purified by affinity chromatography. CJL is composed of four identical polypeptide chains with a molecular weight of 124,000 Da, purity is determined by SDS-PAGE. This lectin has blood group A specificity and an isoelectric point of pH 8.8. CJL displays specificity of galactose over GalNAc, with an elution concentration of 0.2M of galactose. CJL interacts with serum glycoproteins, cytochrome b5 and virus surface glycoproteins (BVDV, influenza and bovine diarrhea).

This product comes in a lyophilized powder form and is stable for more than three years from production date when stored at -20 C. After reconstitution with deionized water, the solution may be stored in working aliquots up to 12 months. Metal ions calcium and magnesium are required for binding.
