Product description: Protein. Human FGF-21 (aa 1-209) is fused at the C-terminus to the Fc portion of human IgG1. Source: HEK 293 cells. Endotoxin content: <0.1EU/µg purified protein (LAL test; Lonza). Liquid. 0.2µm-filtered solution in PBS. Purity: >95% (SDS-PAGE). FGF-21 (Fibroblast growth factor 21) stimulates glucose uptake in differentiated adipocytes via the induction of glucose transporter SLC2A1/GLUT1 expression (but not SLC2A4/GLUT4 expression). Activity requires the presence of betaKlotho.
