Détails Produit

Product description: 2,6-Dichloroindophenol sodium salt hydrate (DCIP) is a blue redox dye. It is an oxidizing agent and can be used as a redox indicator. The color change occurs through a redox reaction. In the oxidized quinone imine form, dichlorophenol-indophenol is blue or red, in the reduced aminodiphenol form it is colorless. DCIP is suitable for the quantitative determination of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). The ascorbic acid is oxidized and in return the colored dichlorophenol-indophenol solution is reduced and thus decolorized. The consumption of the reagent in redox reactions can be determined photometrically. It has been used as a redox dye to investigate the efficiency of gold nanoparticles (Au-NP) for the enzymatic activity of glucose oxidase and to compose UVB specific dosimeter and to measure the rate of photosynthesis. DCIP has been used as substrate in NQO1 assays to investigate the liver cytosolic NQO1 activity spectrophotometrically and in mitochondrial succinate CoQ oxidoreductase (complex II) activity assay. In thin layer chromatography the compound serves as a reagent for organic acids and reducing compounds.
