Product description: 8-Octanoyloxypyrene-1,3,6-trisulfonic acid trisodium salt is a highly polar and water soluble lipase substrate derived from HPTS, which forms tight micelles in aqueous solutions. Lipase activity can be established by measuring the fluorescence kinetics following the increase in emission of HPTS (hydroxypyrene trisulfonic acid). Spectral data: lambdaex 384 nm; lambdaem 409 nm in H2O. Spectral data (esterase cleavage): lambdaex 460 nm; lambdaem 510 nm in 0.1 M Tris pH 8.0.
