Product description: Thiopeptide antibiotic. Congener of GE2270A (AG-CN2-0303 https://adipogen.com/ag-cn2-0303-ge2270a.html ). Used as a starting scaffold bearing a free hydroxy group, for the production of new interesting semi-synthetic antibiotics. Antibacterial agent by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Active against numerous Gram-positive pathogens. Inhibitor of elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu). Inhibits protein synthesis by blocking the GDP to GTP conformational change and by directly competing with aminoacyl-tRNA for the same binding site on EF-Tu.
